Kia Kaha
Constable O'Donovan came into our class today to talk about rights and responsibilities. We have to look after our own property and that of others as well as look after each other. We all have the right to feel happy and safe at school.

Science in a Van
Yesterday we saw Alan and Emily who taught us about mixtures and how they mix, separate and react. Om tried to mix water and cooking oil but they wouldn't mix. Mareva has a giant dry ice bubble in her hand. It felt cold and slimy.

Tree Planting
On Monday Room 5 went to the beach to plant trees. We walked there. We planted the native trees to stop the water flooding the land. Some of the types of trees were flax, cabbage and kowhai. I planted seven trees.

Nelson Symphony Orchestra
This morning some members of the Nelson Symphony Orchestra came to school to share their mini production. We were surprised to learn that most of the props were upcycled from recycled materials from the transfer station. I learnt that one of the violins were 130 years old. There will be a concert in Nelson tomorrow.
